Officially named Tourmaline Surfing Park, this wide, sandy beach sits at the base of Tourmaline Street South of Bird Rock in La Jolla and stretches to the Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach. The gentle surf is good for both swimming and surfing with public parking and public restrooms.
This scenic two-mile long sandy beach situated at the base of the Torrey Pines cliffs which soar 300 feet high is beautiful but can be difficult to access. Yet, during certain swells, Black’s has some of the best surfing on the West Coast. (Note: Although not officially sanctioned, there is a section of Black’s Beach dedicated to nudism)
During this five-hour expedition beginning at 9:00 AM, venture the waters with skilled guides who provide for a deeper understanding of the creatures and various marine animals.
Private Surf Lessons
Wetsuit, board and private instructor are included in this 60-minute lesson. 90-minute lessons are also available upon request.
This amusement park is located directly on Mission Beach, complete with roller coaster, miniature golf, rock climbing, ziplines, laser tag, and more. The park is located near shops and several popular restaurants. Numerous rentals including bikes, surfboard and kayaks are all in immediate proximity.
Legoland Water Park
Tucked inside Legoland California, this water park is ideal for children and aficionados with more than 20 logo models including a 45-foot tower with slides and a shallow wading pool as well as two sandy beach wading areas. Purchase of the two-day Water Park Hopper ticket is recommended. The waterpark is seasonal and open from May through September.

San Diego Waterfront Park
This 12-acre park located at the County Administration Center offers an opportunity to beat the heat within the downtown area with an 830-foot long fountain and 31 jets that shoot water 14 feet into the air before dropping to a shallow splash area. The park includes intimate gardens and a vibrant children’s play zone and several picnic areas with views of the Bayfront. Easy parking is available off of Ash Street.
